Who are we? 
DiscoverKerry.com is a collaborative website operated by Kerry County Council, Kerry Tourism Industry Federation and Kerry SciTech (Tech Industry Alliance) to market the County of Kerry as a place to visit, to work in, to invest in and to live in.

For the purposes of this privacy policy and personal data processing on this website, the three named parties are Joint Data Controllers. A Joint Data Controller agreement is place between the parties as required under Section 79 of the Data Protection Act 2018.

What type of information do we collect from you?

  • Contact details (Name and email address) where you have subscribed to a newsletter.
  • Certain contact details associated with Data Subjects who are Sole traders / micro-businesses who have provided that detail with product or event listings – for example Bed and Breakfast accommodation owners.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by us when you visit our website through the use of Cookies and logs. This information can include your internet-facing IP address; your browser type; access times, referring website addresses and any of our cookies you have consented to.

The legal basis for the processing and the purpose of the processing
Kerry County Council has a variety of legitimate interests in the promotion of the County which arise from the Local Government Act 2014 and related legislation.

However, the primary legal basis for the processing of any personal information associated with the DisocverKerry.com website is the Consent freely provided and maintained by the Data Subject.

Data Processor

New Mind Consulting trading as Simpleview Europe are the Data Processor who provide the Content Management System, the Destination Management System (products and events database) and the Digital Asset Management System on which our website is built.

Simpleview also provide additional services associated with build sites and page elements, hosting, analytics and Search Engine optimisation to the partnership. They also provide technical support.  The web servers & services they use to build and host our sites are based in the EU under the terms of the contract we hold with them.
